Philippines tourism website pulled after porn confusion

The Philippines' government has been forced to take down a re-branded tourism website after many enraged Filipinos pointed out that its domain was almost identical to that of a porn website.

The site, www.beautifulpilipinas.com, is only two letters different from a website that features hardcore porn images on the home page. ?Pilipinas? is the local spelling of the country?s name.

The site was pulled down on Tuesday, a day after it went live amid much fanfare, a Philippine Department of Tourism spokesperson in Hong Kong confirmed.read more
